Tutoring Services and Experience
I have over a decade of experience working with high school students in a variety of educational settings, and really enjoy working with this age group!
I was employed full-time for 6 years developing and running a youth leadership training program for a not-for-profit organization. I have also volunteered for a few years in a high school homework club where I assist students with math, physics, science and other subjects. Students and teachers alike appreciate my work, and frequently express a desire to see me more often than the one day per week my schedule allows. I am also a current member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, and volunteer at the SFU Starry Nights science outreach program for families. (www.sfu.ca/starrynights)
I have a Bachelor of Arts (2004) and a Bachelor of Theology (2005) from the Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, MB. Despite my liberal arts majors, I have always enjoyed mathematics and science, and took several elective courses in these disciplines.
